Sugar Beach by Jennifer Paganelli
Maybe because the beaches looked like sugar or maybe because St. Croix was the hub of Sugar Plantations in the West Indies, either way it was home to me. No matter where you were on the island, a sugar mill ruin was always close by; they made great forts. We would spend hours in them playing pirates and protecting the pile of gold (mom’s jewelry) from theban people, not realizing we were playing the bad people. My childhood memories and adventures are the background for this collection. A time where color rang out and beautiful fabrics were always at hand to create partitions, curtains, and covered boxes in our fort. Create your own adventure using the magical color of Sugar Beach.
