Sugar Beach

By Jennifer Paganelli

Maybe because the beaches looked like sugar or maybe because St. Croix was the hub of Sugar Plantations in the West Indies, either way it was home to me. No matter where you were on the island, a sugar mill ruin was always close by; they made great forts. We would spend hours in them playing pirates and protecting the pile of gold (mom’s jewelry) from theban people, not realizing we were playing the bad people. My childhood memories and adventures are the background for this collection. A time where color rang out and beautiful fabrics were always at hand to create partitions, curtains, and covered boxes in our fort. Create your own adventure using the magical color of Sugar Beach.

There’s something universally resonant about a garden in full bloom! Along with soft washes of watercolor, the delicate roses, songbirds and feathers featured in Bloom Beautiful evoke a romantic, vintage charm. There’s a feminine softness and sophistication to the nature-inspired patterning, that is perfectly balanced with two modern geometrics. Bloom Beautiful, with its three gorgeous palettes, will be your go to collection to create contemporary heirloom quality quilts and artfully inspired home decor and craft projects.

Passion Flower

By Anna Maria Horner

There are over 500 varieties of Passion Flower and among them are a type that grows wild in Tennessee. Living here, I’ve become very accustomed to the rapidly growing vines my garden whether invited or not. Last Spring upon returning from a long trip, I found they had taken over a large portion of my flower beds, and had no choice but to enjoy their strange blooms. My Passionflower collection was created with the idea that the most beautiful things can happen without planning for them. The diversity of print styles is meant to inspire unusual combinations and exciting palettes. The Impostor design is a celebration of unexpected beauty disrupting the norm, while the Passiflora design is a moody study of my now beloved Tennessee wildflowers. The Migration design features the Heliconius because they are so appreciative of the flowers that they are known as the passion – vine butterfly. Add to that some healthy scale variety from patchwork stripes, bold geometrics, and lacey tonals, Passionflower is destined for favorite quilts, bold garments and go – to prints that work with all of my collections.

Kiss Goodbye

By Verna Mosquera

In my latin heritage we always greet people with a kiss hello and bid farewell with a KISS GOODBYE. Most recently I gave someone a KISS GOODBYE a bit sooner that my heart was ready to. As an artist my work is very personal, it always has been. It has celebrated joys and helped me through the toughest of times. This year my mom Vicky passed away. It was very sudden, unexpected, sad and overwhelming. She had been my one constant all of my life, my best friend and confidant.

These colorful patterns can be mixed and matched into endless combinations and I am excited to see the many beautiful and creative ways you design your projects with the Peacock Paradise collection!

Jardine

By Amy Reber

Never underestimate the power of a simple shape. Amy says those exact words time and again when referencing her work. For this collection, that simple shape is a large waxy green leaf. That leaf, along with several fanciful flowers, and accompanying mid – Century modern shapes is Jardine. Amy Reber’s commitment to bold colors, patterns, and design took a bit of a twist with Jardine’s on – trend monochromatic color palettes. Amy created this vintage tropical design, inspired by old Hollywood and retro Palm Springs where martinis, big sunglasses and ostrich feathers are optional, but highly encouraged. Her love of this collection has her making a very personal connection…she is seriously considering adorning her master bedroom with these gorgeous fabrics and hopes to inspire the same connection in all of you.

All Stars

Tula Pink

I have told many stories of animal adventures across dozens of fabric collections. In each story there is a character that stands out from the crowd. These characters have become like friends over the years, I reach for them again and again when starting a new project. As these prints have come and gone I fi nd myself reaching for them and then pulling back, afraid to use the last bits of fabric that I have for fear of finding one day that they are extinct. I don’t think that I am alone in this. For those who have hoarded older prints for years and for those who discovered that sewing was in their blood just a bit too late, I have selected the most coveted and exclusive prints from my archive and given them a color make over. In a dizzying array of spectral brilliance I o er you a collection of fabrics where every print is a star, a dream team of critters. Even the best players need support so I have paired these decadent prints with a collection of Pom Poms to cheer them on. The Pom Poms serve as a color interlude that highlight the best that each print has to o er. The only way to truly honor a coveted piece of fabric is to use it, to sew it, to quilt it into something worth saving.

Crisp Petals

By Natalie Malan

Peach blossoms, in their riot of color, caught my eye when I was a little girl growing up in Georgia. Their velvety bursts of pink, salmon, and fuchsia painted the land and held the promise of a sweet, sticky heaven to come. I knew I wanted to put down roots and plant as many flowers as possible to surround myself with all the colors of my childhood. I began to paint those hues and those dreams. With each of my fabrics, I want you to be able to create treasures inspired by your own stories and to surround yourself with color and good memories.

Bunnies, Birds & Blooms

By Miss Mustard Seed

As many creative endeavors do, this fabric collection, a first for Marian Parsons of the blog Miss Mustard Seed, started with color. A color palette already established in her line of milk paints takes new shape in leaping bunnies surrounded by garlands of flowers, and a flock of birds scattered across a piece of cotton.

While the collection feels whimsical and playful, the designs are classically grounded. Inspired by elements of antique textiles and prints, this new collection feels fresh and traditional.

Ludlow

By Denyse Schmidt

Ludlow is a tribute to the old mill towers of New England. Back in the 1860’s a huge mill opened in Ludlow, MA, that produced jute yarns, twine and webbing. In addition to those goods, the Ludlow Company provided much more – housing a library, schools, playgrounds and clubhouses, which essentially helped to shape the town. After working in the factory all week, everyone looked forward to shedding their factory aprons and dressing up – putting on their finest clothes to attend the Ludlow Fair, which would have included the Ludlow Fair, who would have included a quilt show, of course! Old-time patchwork quilts, swirling skirts, sharply creased blouses and colorful ties made their way to the inspiration for Ludlow.

I invite you into the Library of Flowers. Stories & Songbirds comes from a desire to go back to my roots in design. Like so many in our modern culture, I have a craving to surround myself with beautiful, hand touched, hand created items in my environment. For this reason, I stepped away from my computer and went back to my origins of hand painted illustrations, vintage textiles, and a free-spirited fusion of patterns to capture the soulfulness of artisanal craftsmanship, which look beautiful, patched together in a quilt. Stories & Songbirds is an assemblage of beloved prints, each with a personality to unfold and a story to tell.

Judith's Fancy

By Jennifer Paganelli

Judiths Fancy was the first place we lived when we moved to the island of St. Croix! High up in the hills, it looked out over the island where we could see to Tortola. This is where I met my first best friend, Beth, as we walked the long road home from the bus every day. Beth was stylish dressed in Key West hand print fabrics, the preview to Lilly Pulitzer. So long ago but filled with good memories of the salt air and ocean breeze. No matter where you stood on the island, the ocean was visible. Five miles wide and 25 miles long, the island was home for many years. This past year I took up painting and it was as if the island of St. Croix was inside the paintbrush. The colors, the subject matter, and all of my cherished memories have come back as I paint. The nostalgia of the island borrowed from the lens of a young girl and splashed onto canvas. The paintings have made their way into many of your homes with continued inquires and demand, we are trying these on cloth. From the master design inspired by my first best friend on the island, to the lovely coordinates that make this collection unique and beautiful, Judith’s Fancy is a quilter’s delight! Thank you for making an island girl feel good and help uncover her passion.

Jitterbug

By Amy Reber

The Jitterbug Collection by Amy Reber with its fresh and inviting colors is reminiscent of the bold sophistication found in the South. Amy took note of the region’s unique, crisp “Southern preppy” style and infused it into her designs for this nostalgic, yet modern collection. From hints of wicker furniture in “Terrace” to the beautiful delicate hydrangea-like florals of “Etta“ this collection is bursting with stories waiting to erupt at the whim of a quilter’s imagination. Just as every quilt, stitch, pattern and fabric choice weaves a tale, the Jitterbug collection will inspire quilters to create their own visions and tell their own stories.

Artichoke Garden

By Corinne Haig

As a California girl, I feel blessed that I grew up with lots of sunshine, surrounded by lush flowers, vegetable gardens, and orchards brimming with fruits and nuts. My grandparents were rice farmers and lived on a ranch, so the agricultural aspect of California has always influenced me. I have many memories of delicious family meals at the table that included freshly picked vegetables from the garden, fruit from the orchards, and a vase of flowers from the yard. That love for the garden is what inspired me to design my first collection, Artichoke Garden. It is brimming with colorful artichokes and artichoke hearts combined with luscious pomegranates and beautiful flowers like peonies and protea. I love how the artichoke is a beautiful purple thistle flower that becomes the most delicious and amazing vegetable! The artichoke originated in the Mediterranean and transported from Italy, so I wanted to bring in some of that history by adding hand-lettered words with the painted artichoke pattern. The Artichoke Garden Collection comes in Cabernet and Teal color ways and has bold stripes, ikat geometrics, and pomegranate seed-inspired dots. All of these work beautifully together and can be mixed and matched to create endless combinations of luscious florals, fruits, vegetables and geometrics. Painting is truly my happy place and the Artichoke Garden collection has been pure joy to create and see come to life on fabric. I hope you enjoy this collection and are inspired to create beautiful things that bring delight to you and others.

English Garden

By Snow Leopard Designs

The English Garden Collection for Snow Leopard Designs is inspired by my lifelong passion for English gardens. From the dense herbaceous borders overflowing with peonies and various hefty leaved flowering plants, to the ordered rows of vegetable and fruit gardens with their tomato and strawberry plants amid kale and cabbages. Then there are the roses climbing over trellis work in hidden leafy bowers and secret greenhouses full of scent and colour of variegated geraniums. In this new collection from Snow Leopard Designs I’ve tried to capture the wonder and magic of an English garden so the same scent and kaleidoscope of form and colour can permeate your own homes and projects.

Spirit Animal by Tula Pink

By Tula Pink

Once upon a time there was an undiscovered island that spent thousands of years evolving beyond the burdensome limitations of reality. Imagination was both currency and religion in this place. You could be anything that you wished as long as you had the daring to imagine it so. The animals didn’t know that they were supposed to be brown so they dressed themselves in shades of purple, orange, pink and green. Every being was the ruler of their own reality and existed solely within the make believe of their own minds, because they could dream it, it would become real here. One day a princess of her own reality, dressed in her typical attire of feathers and beads, having spent the morning in the usual way, cuddling with grizzly bears and lounging on rocks with otters came to lie in a field of wildflowers. Yearning for conversation but too com- fortable to seek it out she began to speak aloud to no one in particular. As she paused to collect her thoughts, the field that she lay in spoke back. The wild flowers that cocooned her had imagined themselves as her friends and the magic of the island had made it so. The wild flowers told her of a place where she could mine for stone to make the jewelry and elaborate trinkets that she so loved to dress herself in. This stone contained the essence of the island and was where new inhabitants were developed and honed over years, crafted from the very thing that made everything here so special. There have been rumors and questionable sightings of this place going all the way back through the centuries. Once, an explorer even claimed to have cap- tured some of this magical stone from the island itself but as he sailed away from the island the stone began to lose it’s color, the sparkle that was once so blinding began to fade and by the time he landed on the shores of his own home it had turned into nothing more than a plain gray rock. No one believed this traveler as he had no proof to speak of and his wild stories of vibrant color and self-aware foliage was chalked up to too many months on the open sea. His tales became the stuff of fiction, going the way of mermaids and dragons but he knew in his heart what he had seen and that he would never, ever forget it.
