At Rhinetex, we can’t wait for Christmas! Slowly the shops will be decorated with the most beautiful lights and the mercury drops a bit more every day. It is the time to celebrate with family and friends. The preparations for this festive period are in full swing. Today, we are sharing 5 magical trends we love!

1. Natural Beauty

Trend NaturalBeauty Christmas

The smell of Glühwein is in the air, the first Christmas trees have been spotted and our office will slowly be filled with the most beautiful deco. Hygge, the Danish verb which means something like ‘chilling with your loved ones in an atmospheric setting, natural materials and good foods’. We’re super lovers of hygge and therefore we applied the ‘Natural Beauty’ trend to this blogpost because it fits perfectly within Christmas: nestled in front of a crackling fire enjoying a cup of Glühwein. Create the warm setting you’ll probably know from typical winter chalets by using lots of natural materials; knits, furs and natural wood. Pile up firebricks to the ceiling, pick up pine cones from the forest and spread them nonchalantly everywhere.

2. Cool Christmas

Trend Cool Christmas

A black and white color palette, marble, clean lines, graphic patterns: not the first elements you think about in a Christmas scene. And yet the sleek and sober style of a cool Scandi interior can be combined very well with the cosiness of Christmas. Up in the North, they’ll go for plaids, natural materials and warm colours (see trend no.4 Natural Beauty), OR, they choose the minimalist, sleek style. Not so into the abundance of lights, glints and brights colours. Go for the Cool Christmas style.

3. Wild Romance

A completely different trend. A bit girly, but pretty decoration ideas with a pink twist: Get inspired by Wild Romance! By the use of for example an animal print, the Christmas house gets a wild and cool accent. Christmas may have a wink, don’t you think? 😉 Use white, gold, pastel and pink, featuring basic shades for this atmosphere. Many golden and pink ribbons, pillows with leopard prints, fluffy furs, cottons in pastel and deco in white glam accents are creating a cosy warm atmosphere. Add lots of presents in different colours of pin and give a real Wild Romance by using one of the colours of the moment; Dusty Pink.

4. Loving Laid Back

Trend Loving Laidback Christmas

Perfect for Boxing Day (December 26th). Because: on Christmas Day, everything can be pretty chic. That’s why it seems a good idea to choose a relaxed atmosphere the day after. Make a Christmas table with a natural look, but especially: dare to relax. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Imperfection is a perfect fit to todays trends as you might have read in our blogpost Cool & Cosy Shibori: not everything needs to be perfect, straight and beating. An irregular fabric fits perfectly with this look.

The basics for this laid-back natural atmosphere? A tablecloth in a somewhat stiffer fabric (such as one of our wovens collections). Create a playful effect by putting the tablecloths in a semi-cluttered setting. Vary in colour: combine natural shades with darker colours for some nice contrasts. As far as accessories are concerned: you can put everything on the table. Choose pine twigs tied in a rope, a wooden plank with candles, green and shiny deco like bronze or gold for the accent.

5. Fun with Santa

Trend FunwithSanta Christmas

Isn’t it great to have some fun with Santa? We want to show you that Christmas doesn’t have to be a serious intention at all. Santa Claus has a humorous side, resulting in a Christmas house where creativity is splashing. This playful and crazy trend can’t be colorful and bombastic enough. If you want to go for an airy Christmas with a hilarious wink, your favorite unflattering Christmas sweater is more than welcome. After all: Christmas is about having lots of fun with family and friends, without compromising on originality and style. But how do you copy this cheerful translation into your interior? Time to think ‘out-of-the-box’: colorful and bombastic accents, bold statements, crazy ornaments and hangers that will work on your laughter muscles.
